Booked a combo tour of the Whitney Plantation + airboat swamp tour. Despite being a long day, it was an unbelievable experience and would highly recommend to anyone traveling to NOLA. I chose the Whitney Plantation over Oak Alley due to its focus on the history of slavery and wasn’t disappointed (recommend doing the outside portion first and then finishing at the indoor museum). Next time, I will consider visiting Laura Plantation based on our driver’s recommendation. Our driver, Larry or “Bam Bam”, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of NOLA and provided a history lesson on the long ride there and back. I appreciated his sense of humor and other recommendations- this man deserves a raise! I can’t speak highly enough about the airboat swamp tour- it was insane getting face-to-face with all the alligators. Overall, this was a 15/10 experience… go ahead and book it!
