The first Laura Plantation tour of the day begins pickup at 8:00am and for the second tour, pickup begins at 1:15pm. Crescent City Tours handles all the ground transportation services for us. Our drivers will pick you up at whatever hotel you are staying at for the pick up process. We ask for 30 minutes for the Laura Plantation Tour pickup process. The driver will be ready at the front of your hotel so we ask that you are ready for the pickup. The Laura Plantation Tour is 70 miles (Approx. 1 hour and 10 minutes) from New Orleans. On your tour you will spend about 2 hours at the destination. The Laura plantation tour is a guided tour where you will be shown around the property by a plantation guide. The Laura Plantation Tour will include a history of the property including a walk through the 200-year-old sugar plantation homestead and three gardens. On the grounds are 12 buildings on the National Register, including barns, cottages and the 1829 Maison de Reprise. When your Laura Plantation Tour concludes, you will have some time to visit the gift shop. You will return to your pickup location at 2:00pm.

The Laura Plantation was run by four Creole women, most of whom were early socialites. The most notable of the women was Laura, from where the plantation gets its name. The women ran the plantation for 60 years. On your Laura Plantation tour you will be able to view and enter the 1840’s slave quarters, hear stories of all the members who worked in this plantation, and explore the majestic grounds of the property. The Plantation house was nearly destroyed by a fire in 2003, but it was restored to its original design using materials from antique homes.
